Together with his wife, Cynthia, Tom Rosicki founded Sparkling
Pointe, a vineyard that has emerged as one of the best American
producers of sparkling wines. Over the years, Tom Rosicki’s vineyard has
won a number of domestic and international honors. In both 2008 and
2011, it won first place at the Rio de Janeiro Carnaval competition for
its samba school Beija Flor. In 2009, its Brut Seduction 2000 beat out
all other American sparkling wines and took first place at the San
Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. The Sparking Pointe project has
involved partnerships with both Steve Mudd, a renowned vineyard
developer and manager, and Gilles Martin, an international winemaker who
gained extensive experience with sparkling wine during his tenure at
one of France’s most respected champagne producers.
A man of
many talents, Tom Rosicki formerly served as the vice president director
of security for Macy’s East and as deputy commissioner of the New York
City Taxi and Limousine Commission before dedicating himself to
winemaking. He also was a special agent in the Federal Bureau of
Investigation’s Organized Crime Division with assignments in several
different cities. Additionally, Tom Rosicki served as the chairman of
the Nassau County Parole Board, earning an appointment to the position
from the county executive.
Alongside his work with Sparkling
Pointe, Tom Rosicki strives to make a positive impact in his community.
He formerly served as the president of AHRC Nassau, an organization
that meets the needs of people with developmental and intellectual
disabilities and their families. Tom Rosicki remains actively involved
with the organization as a member of its board of directors. Together
with his wife, he also established an endowment at his alma mater that
empowers the school to give scholarships to students with disabilities.
The endowment also provides funding for any accommodations necessary to
support those students.
